Walk FIT Program
Let us help you get started! We know that not everyone is interested in running, that is why we are happy to offer you Walk FIT at Fleet Feet Sports.
More than 190 million Americans are overweight or obese. Studies show that 60% of American adults don't get the recommended amount of physical activity, and over 25% of adults are not active at all.
Walk-Fit is a nationwide program brought to you by Fleet Feet. Join in on the hottest trend of fitness "walking for life". Come out and enjoy the excitement of meeting others while at the same time obtaining individual fitness and nutritional goals with our certified coaches and nutrition experts!
Walk FIT is a 12 week program designed to increase daily activity through quantifying your steps using pedometers. The coach and mentors will help to find ways to increase your daily step count each week. The goal will be to increase your daily step count by 500 steps each week until you are averaging 10,000 steps a day. The coach will also bring new ways to help make a healthier you by giving you a new “health” focus. At the conclusion of the 12 week program we will celebrate with a 1 mile walk!
- Meets Wednesday @ 6:30pm at the Gateway with Coach and Mentors
- Optional Meeting on Saturdays @ 8:30am with Mentors
- Weekly emails will be sent with new individualized goals/topics/ fun facts/ recipes etc
- Online website 10,000 steps.org to log daily step counts and keep log

- $85 Includes: Walk fee, Fit Book journal, coaching, and MMC pedometer

Coach Meetings
- Give weekly challenges Ex: drink one less coke each day, park car 3 spaces further away than closest
- Ask how week went: injuries, feeling, changes they’ve made
- Introduce new walking location
- Submit weekly step counts to coach
- Bring FIT books for reference
