Cherry Blueberry Smoothie

I've been a creature of habit my entire life. My dad tells a really great story about me eating a peanut butter toasty every. day. for 2 years. And I still haven't forgiven either of my parents for my honey bun stint. Of which I ate every morning for who knows how long.

Studies show that eating the same breakfast every day (or most days because brunch doesn't count ;) ) leads to easier weight loss and keeping off the pounds. For those that track their calories or macros (carbs, fats, proteins) they know exactly what they're getting -- taking the guess-work out of our hectic 21st century life.

Currently (unless my mom is home making eggs and bacon or my dad insisting I need a breakfast burrito), my go-to is a Cherry Blueberry Smoothie.

Tart cherry juice has been shown to reduce muscle soreness, inflammation, and oxidative stress. But I'm not a juice girl. So why waste my calories? I go to the real thing. And the recipe is as follows:

Cherry Blueberry "Creature of Habit" Smoothie

1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1 cup plain Greek Yogurt
3/4 cup Frozen Cherries
3/4 cup Frozen Blueberries
1/2 scoop vanilla protein (15 g protein; 100 kcal)
2 scoops of my powdered greens

Fat: 6.5 g
Carb: 38 g
Pro: 42 g
Fiber: 4 g
