RC Cola MoonPie 10 Mile Run

RC Cola – MoonPie 10 Mile Run General Information

Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce RC Cola -- Moon Pie certified 10 MILE Run is Saturday, June 16, 2018.

The Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce RC Cola – MoonPie 10 Mile Run is a certified course which started up in 1995. It has been a wildly popular race for runners of all ages ever since due to its scenic, yet challenging course. The race is held the third Saturday in June annually in conjunction with the Bell Buckle RC-MoonPie Festival. Few 10 mile runs still exist as they have been replaced with the shorter 10K’s, thereby making this race more unique for its length as well as its endurance test.

Registration is limited to the first 1,000 runners so preregistration is encouraged. The race begins at 7am with packet pick up the day of the race from 5:30am to 6:45am under the big tent across from the downtown shops next to the railroad. Registration normally begins in early January at Active.com . Race shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register. There is a full breakfast offered to all runners after the race which Runner’s World magazine called “some of the best food you will find at a race!”

Packet pick up is available beginning at 5:30am the day of the race. Race Day registration is available if pre-registration does not fill up.

The race begins on Hinkle Hill adjacent to the Bell Buckle downtown area. The course then goes towards the Webb School turning onto Happy Valley Road then onto Highway 269 back towards Bell Buckle with the finish line in front of the downtown square. Water stops are offered at Mile Markers 2, 4, 6, and 8 with poweraide at MM6 and MM8 offered in addition to water.

The Nashville Striders provide championchips for recording times. The mat is pulled at the 2 ½ hour mark with trophy presentation at 10:00 at the stage area behind the downtown square where the RC – MoonPie Festival is held.
