Fleet Feet Sports Murfreesboro is seeking a highly capable, self-starting leader to be Assistant Store Manager of Fleet Feet Sports Murfreesboro / Mt Juliet. This position is for both locations. The primary responsibility of this role is the ongoing development of the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service.
The Assistant Manager of Sales will support the Training Manager in building a top-notch sales team by managing, training, scheduling, hiring and terminating the sales staff team.The ideal candidate will be an ambassador to the store and will assist management to ensure we have the proper sized and trained sales team to fulfill our mission of delivering world-class customer service.This position will work in both locations.Main location is Murfreesboro.
The Assistant Manager of Sales is also responsible for ensuring the sales floor is merchandised in a professional way to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales.
Details are, but not limited to, as follows:
Assist in Building a strong Sales Staff
Assisting the Management team in hiring strong sales staff and terminating those that do not work out
Assisting the Training Manager in training/growth of the sales staff.The Assistant Manager of Sales is in charge of the sales floor when the Training Manager is not in the store
Helping the sales staff continue to grow by communicating strengths and weaknesses and what they need to do to continue to grow in their profession
Assisting the store Manager in scheduling staff and making sure adequate staffing is in place, to ensure world class customer service
Monitor staff’s key performance ratios and overall business goals to deliver world class customer service and communicate performance to the staff
Provide input to the Training Manager in order to hold one-on-ones with the staff to give constructive feedback/praise to aid in their development
Actively managing the staff to ensure that all are doing their functions – taking care of customers, training, restocking, cleaning, other job functions.In charge of the sales floor when the Training Manager in not in the store
Helping to open and close the store to ensure all closing tasks are complete to include closing and opening the registers, making sure staff restock product & store is clean and ready for the next day
Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
Communicating with Management/owner ASAP when issues arise with staff or scheduling
Attend special events
Actively manage the sales floor to increase/maximize profit
Responsible for keeping the store looking clean and fresh
Assist in the placement of product
Offer suggestions for renovation/modification of the store
Minimum one year retail experience required
Energetic personality and ability to lead a must
Minimum high school diploma, college degree highly desirable
Strong communication and leadership skills
