Our group has been running together each saturday morning.  it is so exciting to see how our participants have grown.  fenton payne and fred 5k is our race goal, and we can't wait.  i think the staff and coaches are more anxious about seeing the results from our group.  If you see them on the greenway, give them a high five!!  THey deserve one.  krista

Train to Run or Walk Your First 5K!
 Accomplishing new, challenging things in life starts with making the commitment.
What is holding you back from starting a regular fitness program? 2008 is here, and the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to set goals. If your personal goal is to get in shape, then training for your first 5K (3.1 miles) is one of the best ways to reach your goal. 
 
The benefits of exercise are lengthy, with the most important being: weight loss and management, improved cardiovascular health, improved bone health, improved mood and better coordination. Sign up today to run or walk your first 5K and commit to making a life change. 
 
The Fleet Feet Sports No Boundaries 5K training program is designed for beginner runners and people that are currently inactive or minimally active. 
The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first 5K. Along the way we’ll give you the information and coaching you need to motivate you and keep you moving, so that even after the race, fitness remains an important part of your daily routine.
As part of the experience, program participants will receive the following:
  • A complete 12-week training program and calendar with detailed workouts provided
  • Two coached training sessions for the first two weeks, and one coached training session per week after the first two weeks, to be held at Fleet Feet Sports
  • Informational clinics on proper footwear, injury prevention, and nutrition
  • Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement
  • Dedicated support from the coach to answer individual questions
  • Special shopping night
  • New Balance Technical T-shirt and hat
  • The fee for each program is $75 and does include the race registration fee
  • Race day is August 23th, 2008, Fenton Payne and Fred 5k in Murfreesboro, TN
